Howard County Arts Council (HCAC) will provide opportunities for students who wish to study in higher education in the arts. At least $10,000 in scholarships will be awarded for enrollment in accredited college program for a degree in art in the 2011-2012 academic year.
Some requirements that will be considered by the Arts Council's Scholarship Panel will include artistic merit, demonstrated knowledge of an artistic discipline, commitment to a career in the arts, and demonstrated track record of success in an academic setting. The applicants also must be a resident of Howard County law.
The application selection results will be announced by Committee's decision in March 2011. Application forms can be obtained at www.hocoarts.org and must be postmarked or hand-delivered by December 13, 2010.
